As an actor, Toby has worked in a wide variety of character and straight roles over the 5 year span of his career in the spotlight. Starting as a just another extra on the set of This Ain't Yer Momma's House, Toby was discovered by then-studio-mega-operator Fritz Kalowitz during an open casting call after only 3 months of living in Hollywood. From there, he rocketed from the streets to stardom almost as quickly as he'd decided to abandon his previous career as a coal miner to pursue his dream of acting.
Born in 1978 in Little Falls, Iowa, Toby
grew up surrounded by a rigid agrarian society in a domineering
family. He and his 8 sisters were raised on a strict diet of
prudence and temperance in a very closely sheltered household. He
was trained in his father's trade and worked shoulder to shoulder
with his old man in the deep Little Falls mines until 1998, when
Toby sr. was taken from us by emphasema. It was not until
2002, however, when his mother passed away that Toby finally felt
comfortable enough with himself and his ideals to abandon the
safety of the Iowan countryside to chase the glamorous lifestyle of
a movie star.
When not working, Toby enjoys gourmet
cooking, waterskiing, classic literature and billiards.
